Below are a list of recommended essential oils to clear the seven main energy centers.
1. Root Chakra (Muladhara)
Located at the base of spine.
The root chakra is also known as the money chakra. It is where our sense of security lies. A foot massage can help to balance the root chakra which regulates your sense of groundedness and stability.
Earthy smells such as clove and patchouli oils bring about a sense of grounding and stability. Nutmeg will activate a sluggish root chakra.
Patchouli and vetiver can help to calm an overactive root chakra. Balancing essential oils such as bergamot help maintain a smoothly functioning root chakra.

2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhistana)
Located at the lower abdomen, right below the navel.
A balanced sacral chakra supports the ability to experience pleasure. It also helps nurture a sense of abundance and well-being.
Ylang Ylang, cardamom, and sandalwood oils act as an aphrodisiac to aid in sexual and creative energies. A lower back massage using spicy cardamom essential oil helps to activate a sluggish sacral chakra.
Ylang ylang and neroli helps to calm an overactive sacral chakra. In addition, sandalwood helps to support a well functioning sacral chakra.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)
Located at the upper abdomen, in the stomach area.
The the solar plexus chakra is associated with our inner strength and willpower. When balanced, it supports a greater sense of self-confidence and courage.
Practicing simple Reiki self-care techniques can help to strengthen the solar plexus chakra. Apply eucalyptus and juniper berry can also help to activate this third chakra. Use cassia cinnamon to help heat up the solar plexus power center, or eucalyptus to cool any excess heat in the system.

4. Heart Chakra (Anahata)
Located in the center of chest just above heart.
When balanced, the energy produced by the heart chakra allows us to have meaningful relationships. We feel more empathy, passion, and care for others.
Palmarossa and rose essential oils help to open the heart chakra. The scent of rose is related to our heart, and enhances romance and love. It is also helpful for alleviating sadness and insomnia.
Sweet marjoram helps to calm the fourth chakra. In addition, geranium essential oil can help to maintain a well functioning heart chakra.

5. Throat Chakra (Vishudha)
Located in the throat.
The throat chakra is associated with communication and authenticity. When balanced, the energy from the throat chakra allows for open communication and honest self-expression.
Eucalyptus helps clear sinuses and soothe sore throats and coughing. Vanilla or chamomile helps to calm this fifth chakra. This clears the passageway to for self-expression.

6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)
Located at the forehead and in between the eyes.
The sixth chakra is the gateway to our intuition and inner wisdom. When balanced, we tend to make accurate intuitive decisions and evaluations about our career, family and the intentions of other people.
Applying rosemary essential oil to the forehead or through simple diffusion and inhalation can help to open a blocked third eye chakra. Lavender is calming, especially for headaches. Also, chamomile can help to stabilize and focus this sixth chakra.

7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)
Located at the top of the head.
The crown chakra is associated with enlightenment and spirituality. When balanced, we feel connected to a higher power, be it the Universe or our higher self.
Frankincense is one of the most spiritually-charged oils. It cultivates mental peace and clarity to maintain a balanced crown chakra. Spicy sweet lavandin can clear a blocked crown chakra, while vanilla can calm it.
