Intuition and Intention

Different Reiki practitioners and master/teachers offer variations on every Reiki technique, including distance work.

As always intention is the key to success, there is no right or wrong way to conduct your distance sessions. When you are first practicing distance healing, follow a routine that you feel comfortable with so that you can be relaxed and focused on the session rather than the mechanics of what you are doing.

As you continue to improve your skills of performing a distance session, you will be able to relax and focus of the session and not on what is needed next. Eventually, it will all become automatic.

As your confidence grows, you can begin to rely more on your intuition to guide you during your distance Reiki sessions.

When you are setting the intention at the beginning of the session, remember that you do not have control over the outcome of the session, nor what is in the best interest of the recipient.

Remove your ego and its desires and allow Reiki with its infinite wisdom to do what is needed based on the recipient’s best interests – not your perception of what is best for them.

This intention keeps the responsibility of healing with Reiki energy to do what is needed and go where it is needed.

In some cases, the results may not be as the recipient would like them to be. This can be frustrating especially if the person you want to receive healing is a family member or friend.

But you must respect that the recipient draws in the Reiki energy that is needed and Reiki will work in the best interests of the recipient.
